prostate BPH & Prostate Problems

What is BPH?

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia - BPH Prostate is a condition that mostly affects men over the age of 50. The prostate is a small organ the size of a walnut that manufactures the liquid that is the major constituent of seminal fluid. This organ is located underneath the bladder and it also surrounds the urethra. The prostate grows in two stages; the first is at puberty and the other is in late adulthood. BPH happens in the second stage of growth and refers to the prostate inflammation or enlargement. The prostate causes problems in two main ways. It may grow around the urethra thus squeezing it. Secondly, the prostate cells can grow into the urethra and the bladder outlet area. The latter problem is more serious and calls for surgery.

Both growths exert pressure on the urethra and bladder. One of the effects of a BPH prostate is that the urination process becomes compromised. The flow of urine from the bladder is hindered and this causes urine retention and increased urination frequency. This can be very uncomfortable if not embarrassing. Another effect is that the volume of semen is reduced and in the worst case scenario this can lead to impotency or erectile dysfunction.

Taking Vixova for BPH prostate symptoms has been shown to be effective. Men with BPH prostate symptoms are advised to avoid alcohol and caffeine products such as tea, coffee and carbonated drinks as caffeine tends to tighten the bladder neck thus creating urination problems. Alcohol is a diuretic and therefore causes retention of urine in the bladder. Spicy and acidic foods also tend to aggravate already enlarged prostates. Men are also encouraged to have more sex as ejaculation empties the prostate fluids that block urination.
